The South Platte Band is for grades 9 through 12 and contains a wide variety of insturmental talent - from trumpet to guitar.
During the fall semester, the band competes in two to three marching band events. These can include the Ogallala Marching event, UNK Band Day, and the Hastings Band Day. The band also performs during pep rallies and at occasional football games for pep band.
During the spring semester the band competes in concert band during MAC Music and District Music competitions.
