I received my Bachelor in Art:K-12 Mild/Moderate Disabilities from University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2005. My Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with Inferences on Special Education and Reading from University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2009. I taught for 4 years at Gordon-Rushville Elementary at Rushville as a Special Education k-6th teacher. Then I taught 5 years at Alliance Public Schools, 3 of those years as a High School Special Education Teacher and 2 years as a Level 2 (self contained classroom) Special Education 2nd-4th grade teacher. I started here at South Platte in 2015. My role as Elementary Special Education is to coordinate services for students who have been verified according to Nebraska Rule 51 as a student with a disability. I do this by assisting children in their regular classroom, providing one-on-one, or small group instruction in the areas of Reading, Spelling, Grammar, Math and Specific Interventions. Mr. DeCoste and I live in Big Springs with our son, daughter, and chocolate lab. We enjoy spending time together 4-wheeling, watching and playing sports, and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy going on walks, working in my yard, sewing and craft projects, cooking, and spending time with my loved ones.
