One Act Play Season at South Platte starts in September with introduction of the new play and try-outs. Students in grades 9-12 are all encouraged to try out for a part (cast or crew) each year. Plays are chosen for a wide variety of cast members (male, female, dialogue, acting) and are not exclusive for specific students prior to tryouts. Crew positions include (but are not limited to) camera, make-up, set, sound/lighting, and back-up reader.
South Platte One Act regularly competes in both the MAC and District Play Contests as well as the local Cozad Play Contest. The One Act is also performed for the community during a community night/fundraiser and for the K-12 school the day before Thanksgiving break.
